Want to know what’s in for the warmer months ahead?

Many of the trends from fall continue into Spring/Summer 2015. Fresh faced complexions and contoured cheekbones remain a major look. Dewy skin continues to shine, along with glossy highlights on high points of the face.

With this in mind, color guru Roseanna Roberts has offered up a color forecast for Spring 2015. For Spring/Summer 2015 color application is becoming more liberal and spontaneous, moving to unexpected places like the brows and the roots of hair:

Spring Summer 2015 Trends(Photo : BeautyPress)

Peachy hues emerge as a fresh, color-tinted variety of spring neutral, seen at Ralph Lauren and Nicole Miller.

These nectar-inspired hues provide a luminous, girl-next-door glow on skin with a dash of innocence. Cheeks and lips flush apricot with a touch of gold, while nails take on more intense tangerine hues that channel a playful, happy-go-lucky vibe.

Subtle, muted hues emerge as a counterpoint to the deep saturates of Fall Winter 2014-15, seen at Badgley Mischka.

These nouveau pastels are not the sweet tints of seasons past. This next generation of soft hues employs a dirty pretty edge, with hints of shadowy grey undertones. Pale dusty blue and lilac are favored varieties.

Leading the movement is the reemergence of red, seen at Zac Posen and Dolce & Gabbana.

Nothing says bold-faced confidence and self-assurance like an almighty red. On lips, the color takes on a slightly blue cast, evolving from warmer incarnations of seasons past. Cheeks also veer cool. Nails take on the timeless hue after the rainbow of polishes in recent years.

Gold makes a bold statement this season, seen at Anna Sui.

A little gilt goes a long way, with poignant touches of metallic shine in all the right — and unexpected — places. While this edgy application may not be for the faint of heart, subtle touches of bronze and gold hold appeal for sophisticates, while retaining a nod to the wild side.

Hues of blue continue to shine for Spring Summer 15, seen at Elie Saab and Armani.

From aquamarine to deep cerulean, strong focus is on the eyes, which shimmer in a variety of smudged, smoked, winged and washed applications. Matte, gloss and pearl finishes meet in various combinations, creating diverse, dynamic textures, emulating nature’s most luminous, iridescent influences.

Makeup Tips: The Do’s & Dont’s For Sparkly Glitter

Makeup Tips: The Do’s & Dont’s For Sparkly Glitter

Glitter Makeup
(Photo : Instagram)

It sparkles, it shines, it creates dimension, movement, and we can stare at it for days. You guessed it, glitter is king when it comes to getting all dolled up for New Year’s.

But just like with everything else, there is a right way, and there is a wrong way to wear this festive little texture. Che out our simple tips to keep in mind when you’re applying your chosen shade of sequined makeup:

Do Think Outside The Box. You don’t have to choose a typical silver or gold. We personally recommend trying something unexpected or super chic like the Color of the Year 2015 Marsala. So long as it compliments your outfit, any glitter goes because the shine will speak for itself.

Glitter Makeup(Photo : Instagram)

Don’t Play Up Every Feature. Bright glittery eyes, touches of glitter to accent skin or the lips means you have to tone down everything else. Let the sparkle take all the glory this time. You may want to do your signature red lipstick or bronzer, but this is a no-no once glitter comes into play. Stick to complimentary neutrals.

Glitter Makeup(Photo : Instagram)

Do Stick To One Color Family or Combo. The glitter rainbow is endless and it can be very tempting to choose each and every color you like, but for a look that makes sense and is easy on the eyes of others, we suggest two shades max to play with.

Do Remember Less Is More. Probably the biggest tip for glitter lovers everywhere, don’t pile it on!

Glitter Makeup(Photo : Instagram)

The pigment, on top of the shiny finish will ensure your look is bright and bold to begin with, so don’t make your makeup scream and shout. Subtly is key.

Don’t Be Careless. Wearing glitter makeup may be all about feeling fun and carefree, but it’s real hassle if this stuff gets in your eye. Avoid the pains of having to flush your eyeballs and rinse all your makeup off by using a little patience and a delicate hand.

Do Ensure You Have Fun! How can you not enjoy the most fun, shiny texture there is? Just like the ball that drops at midnight, light up your look with the prettiest glitter you can find!
